Every element of every robe in the Inner Space Collection carries a
story of traditional rituals and customs. Each piece has a past, a
meaning and a spirit, often captured through motifs of nature - the
inspiration for most traditional Lithuanian designs.
Our Collection focuses on the artists involved in the creative
process. We are attempting to put humanity back into products and the
production process, where craftsmanship comes from the heart and hand,
rather than machines.
We work with people who have spent their lives exploring Lithuanian
textiles, crafts and history: artists who treasure old ideals and
skills and are able to craft linen, the oldest textile in the world.
Many of them are in their later years and some are third generation
weavers. Their detailed hand stitching is an art form in itself.
We work with these artists to make sure their craftsmanship remains
precious and worthwhile by being appreciated by more people. We want to
help bring these traditions into the present. That's why our
Collection speaks of the history of an old nation, its delicate
craftsmanship and the sincerity of the local people . . . while letting
the wearer?s style and individualism shine through in the modern 21st
century life she leads.
